About the Opportunity – Key Responsibilities

In the Marketing Assistant role you will be responsible for a variety of marketing initiatives, projects and assignments. These will include:

  1. Manage production and distribution of monthly email newsletter
  2. Research, draft and edit articles on various marketing topics
  3. Manage editorial calendar
  4. Distribution of articles, announcements, news, etc. via social media
  5. Manage web site and blog updates
  6. Conduct phone calls to arrange certain meetings
  7. Develop, compile and edit proposals to prospective clients
  8. Coordinate with and manage outside vendors (e.g., design, print, web consultants)
  9. Help with client billings
  10. Event, course and seminar assistance (scheduling, logistics, marketing, materials, etc.)

There will be broad exposure across the marketing spectrum with a tremendous opportunity to contribute to a growing management consulting firm and marketing agency. This is a roll-up-your-sleeves-and-get-it-done position and a great opportunity to learn many aspects of management and marketing consulting from experienced consultants.

About You

We’re looking for a highly-motivated, smart and conscientious person who is passionate about marketing, consulting, innovation and continuous learning. Specific areas of our practice include management consulting, exit strategy and planning, marketing strategy and web marketing. After a training period, you will be able to confidently discuss our services with current and prospective clients and answer questions related to our expertise, experience and services.

You are great on the phone, curious and attentive to customer needs. You have excellent listening skills and ask the right questions to uncover potential opportunities which match our services. You are a team player.

You have excellent project management skills with a real attention to detail and a sense of ownership. You meet the demanding requirements of marketing which include analytical thinking and creative thinking combined with outstanding communications skills (both written and verbal) and also have strong knowledge of the web and social media.

Required Technical & Marketing Skills

  1. Email service provider experience (we use Constant Contact)
  2. WordPress blog experience and knowledge
  3. Strong working knowledge and experience using a variety of social media tools
  4. Some HTML experience or knowledge is preferred

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree required (business, marketing or communications preferred)
  2. 3+ years relevant work experience (background in consulting or marketing strongly preferred)
  3. Outstanding interpersonal skills
  4. Customer-service orientation
  5. Professional, confident demeanor, both in-person and on phone
  6. Excellent writing skills are required
  7. Strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
  8. Must provide proof of eligibility to work in U.S.

Compensation

This is a part time (independent contractor) position, generally 20-25 hours per week.

You will be paid an hourly rate depending on experience and qualifications, plus commission/bonus for performance.

We will provide a cell phone and laptop computer.
